Terms of service

These terms are the agreement between you and DS source(“we”, “us”), the service at designsource.app, operated by KARAPET MURADYAN PE, a private entrepreneur registered in the Republic of Armenia. They cover the website, the Figma plugin and the designsource command-line tool. By creating an account or using any of them you accept these terms and our Privacy Policy, which explains what we do with your data and is part of this agreement. Last updated .

The service

DS source turns a prompt into a design system: colour ramps, semantic roles, component tokens, a live preview, and exports for code and Figma. It is run by a single maintainer. Using it with your own AI provider API key is free of charge; credits, described below, are the paid alternative to holding a key of your own. It is a tool for producing design tokens and starter code; what you build with them is yours to check and ship.

Your account

  • You must be at least 16 years old to use the service.
  • Keep your password, your project tokens and your connected accounts to yourself. Anything done with them counts as done by you. If you believe a credential has leaked, regenerate the project token and change your password at once.
  • You may sign in with an email address and password, or through GitHub or Google. Those providers have their own terms, which apply to your account with them.
  • You can delete your account at any time from the profile page. Deletion is immediate and permanent.

Acceptable use

Use the service for making design systems. In particular, do not:

  • break, probe or overload the service, or try to reach projects, tokens or data that are not yours;
  • use another person's account or project token without their permission;
  • send the AI prompts intended to produce content that is unlawful, or that infringes someone else's rights;
  • resell access to the service, or scrape it, other than through the exports and tools we provide.

Your content

  • You own what you create. Your prompts, project names, tokens, generated page layouts and everything you export remain yours. We claim no rights in them beyond what is needed to run the service.
  • What you allow us to do. You grant us permission to store your content, render it in your previews, send it to the model provider when you ask the AI for something, and hand it to the Figma plugin or the command-line tool when you connect them with your project token. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account.
  • Exports and starter code. The tokens, CSS, JSON and starter projects the service produces for you are yours to use, change and distribute without restriction, including commercially. The designsource command-line tool itself is open source under the MIT licence.
  • Your responsibility. You are responsible for the content you create and for having the right to use any material you put into a prompt.

AI generation

  • Your own API keys.AI features can run on API keys you create with the model providers you choose. A generation run on your own key is billed by that provider to you under its own terms and prices, and we add nothing to it; the models offered and their prices are the providers' and can change. A generation run on credits is described under Payment and credits below.
  • Model output. Generated recipes, page layouts and answers come from third-party models chosen by you. They can be wrong, inconsistent or unsuitable, and we do not review them. Contrast checks are offered as a help, not a guarantee of accessibility compliance.
  • Removing a key.You can remove any stored API key from the profile page at any time, which deletes it on our side; revoking it at the provider is done in that provider's console.

Payment and credits

  • Credits are optional.They exist so you can run generations without holding an API key of your own. Connecting your own key is free and takes precedence: when a key for the model's provider is on your account, that key is used and no credits are spent.
  • What a credit is. Prepaid units of AI generation on this service, bought in packs or granted by a Pro plan, at the prices shown on the pricing page. A credit is not money, not a stored-value instrument and not transferable; it carries no cash value, cannot be exchanged for cash, and cannot be moved to another account. The credits a generation costs are shown before you start it.
  • Purchased credits do not expire; monthly plan credits reset each billing month.Purchased credits stay on your account for as long as the account exists; the credits a Pro plan grants each billing month are replaced by the next month's grant and lapse when the plan ends. A live Pro subscription must be cancelled before the account can be deleted, through the merchant of record, and the app refuses the deletion until it is. Deleting the account forfeits any unspent purchased credits, so ask for a pack refund first if one is due; plan credits are never refunded.
  • Pro plan. Pro costs $12 a month or $99 a year, as shown on the pricing page. It renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. Cancel any time through the merchant of record and Pro stays until the end of the paid period; a period that has already started is not refunded beyond your statutory rights. Each billing month the plan grants 500 credits, which expire when the next grant lands or the plan ends. We will notify you of a price change at least 30 days before the renewal it applies to.
  • Who takes the payment. Paddle (Paddle.com Market Limited) is our merchant of record and the seller of record for every purchase — credit packs and the Pro plan. Your card is charged by them, your receipt comes from them, and their buyer terms apply to the purchase alongside these terms. Their name, not ours, is what appears on your card or bank statement.
  • Tax. Prices include any tax that applies. Any VAT, GST or sales tax due on a purchase is part of the price shown and is calculated, collected and remitted by our merchant of record according to where you are.
  • Refunds. Set out in full in our Refund Policy, which is part of these terms.
  • Failed generations. Credits are reserved when a generation starts and charged only once it delivers a result. A generation that fails before delivering anything is not charged, and the reservation is returned to your balance.
  • Price changes.We may change pack prices and what a generation costs in credits; the change applies to purchases and generations made after it, never retroactively to credits you already hold. Pro plan prices change only with the 30 days' notice described under Pro plan above.

Third-party services

Signing in with GitHub or Google, adding a provider API key, and using the Figma plugin each involve a service we do not control. Their terms and privacy policies govern your relationship with them; we are not responsible for their availability, changes or conduct.

Availability and changes

The service is offered without any uptime commitment. We may add, change or remove features, and may suspend or stop the service altogether. Where a change would remove access to your projects, we will try to give reasonable notice on the site so you can export them; exports are available at any time from each project.

Ending the agreement

You may stop using the service and delete your account whenever you like. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or that puts the service or other users at risk, and will say why when asked unless the law prevents it. Sections about your content, disclaimers and liability continue to apply after the account is closed.

Disclaimer

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of generated output, or uninterrupted operation. You use it, and anything it produces, at your own risk.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, loss of data, loss of profits, or the cost of substitute services arising from the use of or inability to use the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to what you paid for it in the twelve months before the claim — which is nothing at all if you have only ever used your own API keys. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Armenia, and any dispute about them or about the service is brought before the courts of the Republic of Armenia. If you use the service as a consumer, you keep any protection the mandatory law of the country you live in gives you, and nothing here takes it away.

Changes to these terms

When these terms change, the text and the date at the top change with it. Continuing to use the service after a change means the new terms apply. If you do not agree to a change, stop using the service and delete your account.
